Labdanum (pron. Lab-DuH-numb) is a sticky, brown resin distilled from the rockrose plant found in the Mediterranean. It’s sweet, thick, smokiness lends a spicy backbone to Oriental style perfumes, and combines well with leather and other heavy spices. Labdanum is also one of the best “fixatives” in perfume, making other notes last longer and smell stronger in a composition. If your favorite scents are smoke, vanilla, caramel, black rubber, or peppery spice - labdanum’s unique scent will appeal to you.     The fragrance is very warm. I was worried about the vanilla base, but the patchouli and saffron even it out with a smell similar to peet moss. I love this fragrance. It is mature, but too heavy for summer.

    Definitely different
    I love/hate it. The notes were confusing. There is too much going on at once. The scent is pleasant but assaulting at the same time. The up side is that it does soften over time to a very pleasant smell.

    Bold with a softened after effect
    This scent goes on strong and demands attention. I didn’t think I was going to like it but the dry down is pleasant. Absolutely unique as I’m not able to compare it to anything, I’d say it’s a special occasion smell not as suited for everyday wear.
