Arquiste - L'Or de Louis

April 1687, The Orangery, Versailles. More than a thousand Mediterranean trees are housed in the cathedral-like galleries of the Orangery. Built by the King’s architect to impress courtiers, the tree-lined space became a theatrical setting to entertain the Court. Inside, the gardeners would build bonfires to keep the trees warm so when the Sun King visited, the heady scent of firewood blended with his beloved orange blossoms would emit a generous golden aura.

    Mesmerizing!!
    Beautiful golden hued perfume, neroli neroli neroli, iris, musky, woody, smoky. Everything as advertised! One of the best perfumes I have ever bought. If you love the scent of orange blossoms, petit grain, neroli then you are in for a treat. Beautiful and gorgeous masterpiece! Smells like Sevilla in the spring time and Italy and France in a bottle.

    I like the gold flakes in the perfume but it smells kind of funky. You get a lot of the florentine orris. I feel like if that was left out it mighty have smelled better.

    not for me but quite interesting
    kind of gives summer but not the way you’re probably thinking. like you’re 10 years old at summer camp. it’s a bright, sunny, scorching hot day, and you’ve somehow convinced your camp counselor to bring you to the inside bathroom. like a mix of a ymca hallway, bug spray, sunscreen, outdoors, chlorine, sweat(NOT B.O. its like a salty smell), maybe some woodchips, and grape kool-aid. the more i describe it, the more i can appreciate it for nostalgic value but not quite as a wearable fragrance
