Arquiste - L'Or de Louis

April 1687, The Orangery, Versailles. More than a thousand Mediterranean trees are housed in the cathedral-like galleries of the Orangery. Built by the King’s architect to impress courtiers, the tree-lined space became a theatrical setting to entertain the Court. Inside, the gardeners would build bonfires to keep the trees warm so when the Sun King visited, the heady scent of firewood blended with his beloved orange blossoms would emit a generous golden aura.

    Very sexy, not very orange at all
    The musk and the wood notes are very strong, which I like. It has a very powerful and sensual vibe. However, the iris floral notes get very lost in the strength of the musk, and the honey and orange make no appearance at all. Maybe I simply do not have a skilled enough nose, but if I had to blindly guess what scents are in this, I would never guess honey and orange. Other than that, I am a big fan of musky scents- I think this layers well which other fruity perfumes to give it more of an edge- but its not my favorite on its own, and I wish it was more like the description.

    Worst Perfume Ever!!
    this smelled disgusting! I immediately threw it away, and to think they charged me extra for this is insane. This smells like a very cheap, old lady perfume.

    Not for me
    This literally smells like im 60 years old. I dont like it not even one bit. I can’t believe you pay 10 extra dollars for this. Im never gonna wear it. If you are 60 then this may be a good scent for you. If you are not stay away. I love all my scentbird but this one I hate it.
