Color and perfume go hand in hand. When we smell a perfume, it’s easy to start matching colors to the textures of the notes. But rarely do you see a perfume line whose inspiration for each release is based on this exact idea. Élisire’s elegant and finely-tuned fragrances use the color spectrum’s emotional appeal to build olfactory auras that saturate their scents.
Élisire’s founding visionary is Franck Salzwedel, a NY-based French color field painter. Franck began his career at Giorgio Armani, where he developed Acqua di Gio and Mania. Then he conceived the iconic Flowerbomb at Viktor & Rolf.
Franck Salzwedel describes his approach with a great deal of enthusiasm:
“I wanted to tell the story of my love for fragrance and painting, driven by my fascination for nature – the world, the sky, the sun, the light, the stars, and the elements. But most of all, the miracle of colors, and their impact on the sensorial and emotional spectrum. Color has transcending power, which acts on the body and the soul… color speaks all languages.”
Scentbird is truly excited to be able to offer Élisire’s wonderfully colorful and sensuously crafted fragrances to our subscribers, and here’s a snapshot of each to whet your appetite:
