September Perfume of the Month: SANCTUARY Saola Asian Unicorn
In the dense, lush jungle where the leafy greens embrace the jasmine bushes and its narcotic aroma, if you’re really, really lucky, you’ll get a glimpse of a real-life unicorn. The juicy pineapple scent greets you in the opening and each and every note pays homage to the saola and the tropical forests these elusive creatures call home. It’s an addictive scent with an air of mystery, which can be said about the saola itself.
The actual count of the current saola population is unknown, however, the conservationists estimate that only a few dozen have remained in the Annamite Mountains of Vietnam and Laos.
September Cologne of the Month: SANCTUARY North Atlantic Right Whale
“When creating this scent, I wanted to celebrate the characteristics of the North Atlantic Right Whale and capture the essence of it traveling and socializing in its natural habitat – the sea. Notes of sea greens and marine accords enveloped in golden amber, and patchouli create the sense of being by this salty ocean water under the sun.” – Clement Gavarry, Perfumer
It’s hard to talk about the fragrance after this kind of an intro, but don’t blame us for trying.
Mirroring the sunbeams piercing through the ocean with gusto, the fragrance opens with invigorating fresh air accord and sparkling mandarin, bringing forth freshness and playfulness. Marine notes and sea greens dance upon your skin like drops of water, adding a verdant, aquatic element, while white patchouli and salted musk ground the refreshing blend.

The North Atlantic right whale is one of the most endangered species of all large whales, with some reports suggesting that they have already gone extinct in the eastern North Atlantic and now survive only along the east coast of the U.S. and Canada.
