Boasting an impressive lineup of apprentices and protegees that spans celebrity designer icons like Dior and Givenchy – Robert Piguet, and his famous fragrance collection defies expectation, offering a unique and unconventional take on luxurious perfumes.
Without an ounce of regret, his most popular fragrance, Fracas seduced Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth and Brigitte Bardot, heads of state, and this very author.
The top notes of Fracas are opening the gates to Eden: there are flowers like orange blossom, and hyacinth scattered everywhere, with forbidden fruits and citruses ripe for the picking. But it’s the heart of the fragrance that’s sinfully perfect. Imagine the seductress, her sensual highness, the tuberose, in company of jasmine and gardenia, the ultimate white floral triad. There’s also osmanthus, narcissus, lily-of-the-valley, carnation, and white iris, playing along the supporting role.
The moment you think the scent climaxes and it’s as good as it gets, it surprises you with a woody drydown twist, courtesy of musk, sandalwood, amber, oakmoss, vetiver, and cedar mix.
Fracas is a sex in a bottle, the audacious floral siren that you will want to keep as close to your skin as possible, and reach out to give you a lift; even at times when you want to lay low.
Also in Robert Piguet’s opus is Gardenia, an opulent, floral, and beautiful scent, with a veil of leather and cashmeran adding an exciting undertone. If Fracas is all about the most exciting rendition of tuberose in a perfume form, Gardenia celebrates the night-blooming flower in a league of its own.
Gardenia is sultry, but this sensuality is subdued with vanilla essence, wrapped around cashmeran woods and leather accords.
On our Scentbird shelves you’ll also find Petite Fracas, the temptress in study. The floral trio of tuberose, gardenia, and jasmine is still reigning supreme in this composition, too, however, the drydown is ruled by cocoa, musk, and a sandalwood concoction, making for a very beautiful, alluring scent.
