Did you know that sun is perfume’s biggest nemesis?
Add perspiration to the equation and you have a recipe for disaster.
Therefore, when fighting for your place in the sun and near the water, reach for lighter scents, perfumes containing a minimal amount of alcohol, loaded with refreshing fruit essences and aquatic notes.
Like the ones on my list….

What’s In a Name?
Many are baffled by the term “aquatic notes “, unrightfully thinking it’s a synonym for watery, odorless perfumes. The term applies to the ingredients that give the fragrance a distinctively fresh, clean, translucent and airy scent. This category is dominated by scents of aquatic plants, but also notes such as cucumber or tea accords.
Aqua Motu by Comptoir Sud Pacifique
This aquatic scent inspired by the ocean and water is extremely refreshing.
The highlighted fragrant interpretation of tropical paradise that leads you to the crystalline sea of the lagoon where the water is a dark turquoise with depths inhabited by tropical corals make this scent fresh, velvety and sparkling blend of aromatic, herbal and aquatic notes. It opens with immortel, leading through the heart of sea water, sand and lily-of-the-valley. Seaweed notes are the base of this scented summer refreshment.
A true rendition of sea water making love to a hot sand…
Acqua Di Gioia Eau Fraiche by Giorgio Armani
Acqua Di Gioia Eau Fraiche by Giorgio Armani is a fresh and lighter version of the original scent in the aquatic-floral group. Aquatic notes are more prominent than the florals with combination of grapefruit, primofiore lemons, tangerines, ylang-ylang, jasmine tea and jasmine water. The base is the cedar sprinkled with brown sugar.
Pair it with a nice floating dress, a fedora and sail into the sunset…
Aqva Divina by Bvlgari
The sea breeze blended with citrus notes provide the feeling of drinking fruit cocktails on the sea shore, on a luxurious resort hidden on a remote island.
Aqva Divina by Bvlgari is a delicate and elegant fragrance with refreshing citrus spiced notes, serene as the summer sunset and day spent on the beach. Clean, fresh and sophisticated, it opens with notes of bergamot, salt crystals and red ginger. The heart is comprised of notes of magnolia and quince and fresh water chords, laid on base of beeswax, precious woods and amber.
For a summer night filled with falling stars and beauty in the air…

How do u know when u have found ur scent?
Hi Susan. Personally I believe that finding the right scent is pretty much like finding your true love. Once you put the fragrance on your skin it mixes with your chemistry and creates an aura of invincibility around you. It makes you feel beautiful and empowered. You are infatuated with its scent and you cannot stop smelling your wrists. I hope that this explanation will help you find your true scent.
