PHLUR is no stranger when it comes to virality. Between its Missing Person Eau de Parfum and its Vanilla Skin Hair and Body Mist (which eventually became a perfume), the brand keeps popping out sensational scents with crowd-pleasing appeal. Its latest of-the-moment icon? Heavy Cream Hair and Body Mist. This mist—which has sold out countless times—is nothing like you’ve smelled before. Instead of the overly sweet body mists you spritzed on after gym class in high school, this warm, velvety, and creamy gourmand is in a whole different league. With notes of whipped cream and marshmallows, it proves body mists (sweet ones at that) can be sophisticated and anything but basic. In this review, you’ll find out all you need to know about Heavy Cream Hair and Body Mist and why it deserves all the praise.
THE SCENT-SPIRATION
A recent interview with Who What Wear reveals that Chriselle Lim, the founder and creative director of Phlur, credits TikToker and Model Nara Smith as the inspiration behind the scent. She told Who What Wear that because she is lactose intolerant and can’t dig into many of Smith’s decadent baked goods and sugar spun treats, she wanted to create a fragrance that was just as creamy, milky, and confectionary while still being sophisticated. That’s how Heavy Cream Hair and Body Mist was brought to life.
KEY NOTES
Top: Lemon Sugar, Marshmallow, Orange
Heart: Jasmine Blossom, Coconut Cream, Vegan Ambrettolide
Base: Vanilla Mousse, Salted Caramel, Whipped Cream
WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE
With its blend of creamy vanilla, whipped musk, and soft woods, it’s designed to give you all the cozy vibes without feeling juvenile or overdone. It truly smells like a sugary, milky mix. Almost as if you dipped a fresh sugar cookie in a glass of milk and let it linger for a bit. On top of the cream, vanilla, and marshmallow notes, there’s also lemon sugar, orange, and jasmine to give it a fresh zest. The dessert-esque scent can be worn on its own or layered with other scents to bring out a more lactonic aroma.

FINAL THOUGHTS
As a gourmand lover, I simply cannot get enough. I enjoy the perfume from the initial spritz through the dry down. It smells more lemony upon first spray but gets warmed and creamier as it wears. I was especially impressed with its wear for a mist that lasts on my skin all day (even more if I spray it on my clothes and in my hair). If you’re looking for a new milky scent, I highly recommend picking up this mist the next time it’s in stock.
