Review: Flashback To Your Most Precious Moments With PHLUR Missing Person Perfume
There’s no denying that fragrance evokes feelings of nostalgia—and can remind you of specific people in your life and past experiences. For example, Donna Karan Cashmere Mist brings me back in time to the warm embrace I received from my grandma the day I graduated high school. Chanel Bleu de Chanel transports my senses to the weekday mornings of 2005, when my father would spritz the luxe cologne four times before heading out the door.
This idea of fragrance conjuring memories of specific people or places isn’t new, but PHLUR, the buzziest fragrance brand on Tik Tok right now, took this idea one step further and bottled it up into one unique scent that offers a personal experience for each and every user. Interested in learning more? Read on for the inspiration behind the Phlur Missing Person scent, the star notes, and my personal thoughts on this viral emotion-provoking fragrance.
THE SCENT-SPIRATION
The skin-like, musky scent from influencer and entrepreneur Chrisell Lim’s fragrance brand was brought to life by perfumer Constance Georges-Picot with the intent to smell like your lover (or someone you love’s) skin.
It was designed to remind you of specific and special moments with loved ones—whether that be a parent, friend, pet, significant other, etc. What makes this Phlur Missing Person one-of-a-kind is how it allows for a completely individualized experience while encompassing a universal feeling of longing for or missing someone you love.
WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE
The pale peach-colored bottle is filled with a fresh and musky fragrance that smells familiar but you just can’t put your finger on it at first. To me, it smelled like the lingering aroma of a loved one on a cozy sweater on a winter night or the scent of a lover on a pillowcase after a steamy night. Its presence is there but in a very soft, subtle way that’s still thought-provoking. As the Phlur Missing Person scent wore I noticed it transformed from this fresh, musky aroma into a warm floral that had a cashmere-like quality to it that comforts your senses.
KEY NOTES
Considered a quintessential skin-scent, the Phlur Missing Person melds with your skin chemistry creating a soft warm floral scent. The top notes are light musk, sheer jasmine, and bergamot nectar for a very pleasing smell that immediately triggers this feeling of nostalgia. Next a blooming bouquet of neroli and orange flower hits your senses delivering a creamy sun-struck accord that reminds you of a sunset. The base notes of sandalwood and blonde woods give it a sensual spin.
OUR FINAL THOUGHTS
The fragrance did not transport me to a specific instance with a loved one or lover, but it did bring me to this familiar place that felt both comforting and mysterious at the same time. The perfume smells like something I know but isn’t distinct or clear, which is why I think it works for everyone—as it’s both personal yet universal at the same time.
If you’re interested in trying this memory drawing scent be sure to act fast and add Phlur Missing Person to your queue here as it sells out rather quickly.
