We’re in the middle of New York Fashion Week and style #inspo is at an all-time high. For the first time ever, we’re taking our cherished Scentbird community behind the scenes of New York Fashion Week, where scent is used as a canvas for elevated self-expression and a subtle yet potent accessory. Through engaging content and digital experiences, Scentbird becomes the thread that seamlessly binds together the world of fragrance and the world of style.
In this exclusive blog post, we’re diving into the synergy between Scentbird and the prestigious fragrance brands that also grace the runways of NYC Fashion Week – think Christian Siriano, Rachel Zoe, Michael Kors, and more.
Plus, we’re thrilled to have Kelsey Stiegman, the senior fashion editor @Bustle @Bustlestyle and influencer @klstieg on board, ready to show us a glimpse of the shows, sneak peeks from backstage, and the fragrance essentials she never leaves home without.
Tell us about yourself
I’m a full-time fashion person, both in my professional and personal life. During the day, I act as Bustle’s Senior Fashion Editor, and in my spare time, you can find me thrift shopping and snapping ‘fit pics.
Tell us about your fragrance philosophy
I don’t believe in a signature scent — I like to switch it up every day. I keep various perfumes in my bedroom, bathroom, bag, and on my desk at work. You’ll never catch me without a bottle. Though I like to give all my fragrances love, there are a couple I save only for special occasions — and one discontinued scent I’ve had since middle school that I’m still rationing out.
From your perspective, how are style and scent linked?
A good outfit is always elevated by a great scent. A spritz of perfume is like the final cherry on top — I can’t leave the house without jewelry, sunglasses, and a few sprays of the day’s scent.
How do HERETIC “Dirty Peach”, Marc Jacobs “Daisy”, and Miu Miu “L’Eau Rosee” suit your style vibe?
Anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with anything peach. It’s my favorite flavor of ice cream, candy, margaritas, and perfume. And this fragrance is all peach all day. Marc Jacobs Daisy, on the other hand, is bright and fresh. I’ve been a fan of the line for years and with each new iteration, I love it even more. Miu Miu’s “L’Eau Rosee” falls squarely into the category of “special occasion perfumes.” It’s got a sexy scent I’d save for date night, a high-profile party, or NYFW, of course.
