New York is the hub of dreamers and doers but in our next Scents of Style feature, the NY-based content creator Caroline Lin believes you can’t have the one without the other. A lot like style and scents. A 90s fashion devotee, Caroline’s IG feed is a minimalist’s dream and a visual storyboard that presents a passionate narrative about her personal style. Tell us about your fragrance philosophy: How do you choose your scents and do you have a preferred fragrance family or a favorite note?

I’m a very decisive person, I will usually have a sniff of the scent and immediately know if it’s for me or not.

I always go for something floral, warm, and sweet. Jasmine is my favorite floral scent when it comes to fragrance.

Here at Scentbird, we like to think of scents as an integral piece of one’s personal style. From your perspective, how are style and scent linked?

They go hand in hand and they complement each other. I strongly believe that you cannot have a finished look without a scent because it completes the vibe you’re going for and gives you a dose of confidence. And you can never have too much confidence. 

You have a very refined sense of style. How does Amouage suit your style vibe?

Amouage is a luxury brand that has finely crafted fragrances. It suits my style and vibe perfectly because it resembles the elegance and timelessness I always try to achieve for my style.

We had an inkling that Honour by Amouage would be a perfect fit for your style. Did we get it right?

Definitely, Honour is perfect for me, it’s something I would use on a daily basis. It’s a classic white floral, exuding warmth and elegance, with super elegant and clean notes, which is exactly how I would describe my style. It’s very gentle but has amazing longevity. Additionally, what I really love about Honour is its versatility; it’s clean and demure enough to be a perfect office pick, intermixed with tempting white floral notes that transform it into a finishing date night touch.
